Obituary

Velma Aileen Cade , daughter of the late Louise Cade and Douglas Foxworth, was born on December 23, 1956 and departed this earthly world on October 9, 2018. She was a sweet, humble soul who gave so much love to all who she came in contact with. Velma was employed as a cook in the Latta Elementary School cafeteria as well as South of the Border's Hot Tamale for many years. She was best known for her cooking and nurturing all children and babies that she knew. Velma didn't have much, but her love and kindness surpassed any tangible thing that one could give. Her greatest gifts were her granddaughters, who she love to see dance every chance she got. Velma loved her children and family with everything she had up until the very end. Velma only had three biological children and two grandchildren, but she adopted so many others over the years. Her love, smiling face and laughter will never be erased from our hearts. Although she moved to Charlotte, NC eight years ago, she never forgot her home and her favorite place, Weston Chapel AME Church where she grew up and gave her life to Christ. She served diligently until she moved to Charlotte. She attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and Elevation Church with her family, but her heart remained with her home church. Left to cherish her memory are so many to include her children: Veronica and Marques Bennett (Charlotte, NC), Tazjha McRae (Charlotte, NC), Rashad Cade (Florence, SC), her grandchildren: Nia and Ayanna Bennett (Charlotte, NC), her sister and brothers: Marie Cade and Ruth Cade (Florence, SC), Karen Felton (Sumter, SC) Alvin and Sherry Cade (Duluth, GA), Lauretta Cade, Karl Cade, Lorraine Brady and Frances Bethea (Latta, SC), Emma Foxworth (Richmond, VA), Mary Lee Foxworth (Bishopville, SC), Christine German (Darlington, SC), Aunt Martha Cato (Aiken, SC) and so many nieces, nephews, adopted children and grandchildren, adopted sisters and brothers, cousins and friends which are too many to name. If you came in contact with Mommy in any way, you were family!!!
