Rubie Lee Ross was born to the late Reverend Horace Bruce Anderson and the late Rosalena Evans Anderson on October 22, 1945 in Marion County, South Carolina. She departed this earthly life on Thursday, December 27, 2018.
Ruby attended the public schools system of Marion County, South Carolina. From childhood she attended and became an active member of New Mt. Zion AME Church in Sellers, South Carolina. Ruby as a Missionary, Pastor's Aide and Stewardess.
She later moved to New York City where she graduated from the New York School of Nursing. Her thirty-year career consisted of working at: Coney Island Hospital of New York, New York, Harbor View Nursing Center in Jersey City, New Jersey and retired from Disability and Special Needs in Marion, South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her father: Reverend Horace Bruce Anderson; mother: Rosalena Evans Anderson; brother: Horace Anderson, Jr.; brother: Ernest Anderson; husband: Bennie T. Dixon and husband: Joseph Ross.
The time came for Rubie to go with God. She leaves so many memories. A part of her will always be with us. She will never be forgotten...
Rubie leaves to cherish fond memories ~ two daughters: Kecia Dixon of Florence, SC and April Pete of Marion, SC; special daughters: Ivory Mitchell of Florence, SC; Victoria Lane of Marion, SC; and Victoria Davis of Columbus, GA; one sister: Gertie (Herbert) Lee of Florence, SC; two sisters-n-law: Johnnie Mae Anderson of Latta, SC and Elizabeth Anderson of New York City, New York; two god-sisters: Janice Ellerbe of Mullins, SC and Sylvia Jean Davis of Sellers, SC; two grand-daughters: Kenay Dixon of Florence, SC and Alysia Pete of Marion, SC; special brother and sister who grew up and lived within grandmother's home: Alphonso Anderson and Dorothy Williams both of New York City and Delorise Faison of Ozone Park, NY from the home of Peccolia Evans and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, classmates and friends.
