Seventy- five years ago, Robert L. Willis was the fifth child of the late Maggie Elizabeth Hodges and Clifton Willis of Marlboro County. On January 19, 1943 a big change came to Marlboro County, SC. A Time to Embrace & A Time to Sow At an early age, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and worked hard to demonstrate his Commitment by joining the Magnolia A. M. E Church in Bingham, SC. He later went to graduate from Wright High School in 1961. After graduating high school Robert moved to Jersey City, NJ with his oldest sister Dot. Soon after he started working a local job. Then, one afternoon he was looking in the newspaper and saw an interesting ad for Sales Job with travel opportunities. He was adventurous and looking for more. He decided to take the job. A Time to Live Robert traveled all over the United States, he worked very hard and eventually became part owner of Chapel Sales, Inc. One of his greatest achievements was teaching his son Darren his swift managerial skills. He passed along his knowledge, skills to everyone around him. He loved his family, friends, and associates. One of his greatest joys was returning home and going to New Orleans. In his leisure time he loved to shop, was an avid photographer, and like to take long drives in his exotic cars. In his past time he like to spend his days at the race and on plenty occasion he would leave with bags of money!!! Mr. Willis really knew how to pick those horses!!!! He was united in holy matrimony to Gale Durand of New Orleans, LA and that union was blessed with two children Darren and Lakisha.
