Robert (Bobby) Lee McCray was born on March 10, 1933 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Luther and Louise McCray. He passed into erternal reat on Thursday, February 6, 2020 in Philadelphia, PA. One son preceded him in death: Robin McCray. Siblings that preceded him in death: Cornelius McCray, Nathaniel McCray, Luther McCray, Mary McCray, and Doris McCray. One family friend: Terrance McClellan.
He graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in Philadelphia, PA. As a child he was a member of Zora Methodist Church in Philadelphia, PA. He the served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He later taught at Tuskegee Institute in Tuskegee, AL. As an adult he became a member of St. Phillips United Methodist Church in Marion, SC. He took sick in Philadelphia, PA and was taken care of by two special nieces Kimberly McCray and Robin McCray.
Those left to cherish his memories are is children: Wyatt Downing of Baltimore, MD, Yvonne Jackson of Latta, SC, Jonathan (Stephaine) Grainger of Jersey City, NJ, Cassey (Cedric) McCray, Atlanta, GA, Robert S. McCray of Columbia, SC; one sister: Shirley (Burrell) McCrayMassey, Philadelphia, PA; one aunt: Martha Garrett of Phildaphia, PA; twenty grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; four great, great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
