R ichard A llen R ogers , affectional known as "Buddy D" was born in July 19, 1948 to the late Legrant and Mamie Rogers. He departed this earthly life on Saturday, May 11, 2019 in Florence, South Carolina.

Richard attended the public schools of Dillon County, South Carolina. He was a 1969 graduate of Latimer High School, Latta, South Carolina. He served in the United States Army. He was later employed with the town of Latta and Dillon Yarn.

Richard joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church at an early age where he served on the Usher Board. He loved fishing and just enjoying life having a good time with family and friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents: Legrant and Mamie Rogers and his sister: Mary E. Tyner.

Richard leaves to cherish fond and loving memories ~ his wife of forty-four years: Azzie Lee Rogers of the home; two daughters: Patricia (Darrick) and Melissa (John); one grand-daughter: Ky'Lasiha McDaniel all of the home; one nephew whom he reared as his own: Rashawn Morrison of Lumberton, NC; one sister: Laura (Johnny) Sanders of the home; one brother: William (Olive Mae) Rogers of Paterson, NJ; two aunts: Mattie Richardson of Chillicothe, OH and Gertrude Richardson of New York, NY; four sister-n-law: Princess Wilson, Mae Carolyn Jones, Rebecca Wilson all of Latta, SC and Gloria (Elmore) Bethea of Marion, SC; four brothers-n-law: Robert Wilson, John Wilson, Jackie (Gwen) Wilson all of Latta, SC and Eugene Jones of Dillon, SC; a very close long-time friend: Leroy Williams and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
