Richard Lee Dixon , son of the late Wallace Dixon, Jr. and Alice Johnson Dixon was born on January 11, 1949 in Dillon County, South Carolina and quietly departed this earth life on Monday, April 20, 2020 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Mullins, South Carolina.

Richard received his education in the public schools of Latta, South Carolina. Richard was a loving and kind person he would help anybody no matter how wrong they did him or mistreated him, his heart was as pure as gold.

Richard accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior under the leadership of James A. David at David's Community Baptist Church in Clio, South Carolina were he later became a trustee of the church and held that position until his health declined.

Richard was preceded in death by both of his parents; one brother: Jessie James Dixon; one sister: Peggy Jane Dixon; one great nephew: Hy'Keem McClellan… Richard's nickname from the family was John Dixon.

Richard leaves to cherish fond memories ~ five sisters: Elizabeth Dixon of Latta, SC, Rosegeaner Dixon, Barbara Dixon both of Sellers, SC, Rachel (Ron) Burgman of Livingston, NJ; three brothers: Daniel Dixon of Latta, SC, Leemar Dixon of Sellers, SC, Randolph (Daisey) Jenkins of Newark, NJ. A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and his special friends: Janice Green and Gevonte McNair of Latta, SC.

One of Richard's talents was to rename his nieces and nephews to what he wanted to call them: Key-Key known as Tee-Ann; Tyrell known as Tiger Mart; Gevonte known as J.Q.; Stefon known as Willie then Johnboy; James known as Buzzie; Hollie known as Marylee; Tay known as Fat Girl; Roxanne known as Rabbit; Raquel known as Lil Girl.
