Nero Fortune, Jr . was born on August 12, 1933 in Sellers, South Carolina to the late Ruby and Nero Fortune. He departed this earthly life and entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 28, 2019.

He was educated in the Marion County School System, Sellers, South Community. He accepted Christ and joined the New Mount Zion AME Church in Sellers, South Carolina at an early age.

Nero worked and retired from Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey and returned to Sellers, South Carolina to take care of his mother. He was a avid baseball and basketball fan and in particular the NBA player, Raymond Felton. Nero married Shirley Fortune and lived most of their lives in Trenton, New Jersey.

Nero was preceded in death by his parents: Ruby and Nero Fortune; sister: Catherine Chester; niece: Linda Ruth Fortune; aunts: Minnie Green, Maggie Green, Ruth Green, Catherine Green; uncles: Edgar Green, James Green, Lee Green, and Elouise Godbold.

His memory will be celebrated and cherished by ~ his wife: Shirley Fortune; son: Jeffrey Hall; daughter: Sandra (Al) Miller; step-son: Darrell Rice; grandchildren: Corinthia Hall, Icess Floyd, Janita Ervin, Donte Rice,; great-grandchildren: Christian Proctor, Liam Ervin, Shawntaya Hightower, Kamajinai Rice, Shaquey Rice, Kobe Rice; nephews: Steven Woodbury, Maurice Fortune, Jason Fortune both of Seller, SC, Teritius Fortune of Atlanta, GA; cousin: Inez Green of Trenton, NJ; his longtime roommate at the nursing home: Michael Podboreski' and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
