Mitchell Lee Davis was born on January 1, 1959 to James Damon Davis and Lillian Burns Davis. Buddy departed this earthly life on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at East Orange General Hospital.

Buddy attended the Latta Public Schools system where he received his high school diploma. Shortly after high school, he attended college in Charleston, South Carolina for electronics. Mitchell was employed at Francis Marion College in Florence, South Carolina as a head custodian. He was also a supervisor at Imperial Pools in New Jersey until he became ill and had to retire.

He was known as "Buddy" since his childhood days. He was a hardworking and a great family man. He later moved to New Jersey where he met Sherry Jamison and had two children: Corey and Lorenzo Jamison. Sherry and Buddy separated and he later met and married Cynthia Brewer and had a son: Robert and moved to South Carolina. After moving, his baby girl, Lillian was born.

Mitchell was active within church, serving on the Trustee Board at New Hope Baptist Church in Latta, South Carolina and proceed to be a Deacon at Faith Temple Baptist Church in Jersey City, New Jersey. He truly loved the Lord until he made it to his destination.

Buddy enjoyed baseball and dancing. He took a lot of pride in his work and everything he did. He instilled in his children to also take pride in whatever it was that they did, from dressing, dancing and cooking. Buddy enjoyed his sister's Ritz Cracker Pie and Aunt Bert's Old Fashioned Pound Cake! He loved music, his favorite song was by Otis Redding and Clarence Cater. He had a heart of gold and talked to a lot of junk!

He is preceded in death by his son: Corey Jamison, grandson: Ja'Mere Brewer; his parents: Lillian Burns and James Damon Davis; half-sister: Patricia Ann Dickerson; brothers-n-law: Charles Brown and John Brewer, Jr. and father-n-law: John Brewer, Sr.

Buddy leaves to cherish his loving memories ~ his wife: Cynthia Davis; his children: Lorenzo Jamison, Robert Brewer; baby girl: Lillian Davis; eight grandchildren: Angelique, Natayah, Esaw, Laniyah, Corey, Shakiyah, Jakai and Saniya; one great grand: Ethan; his siblings: Frankie Lue Brown of Latta, SC, James (Marie) Davis of Charlotte, NC, John (Mary) Davis of Latta, SC, Curtis (Veronica) Davis of Elgin, SC; sisters-n-law: Margaret, Yvonne, Keisha, Tywanna and Sonia; brothers-n-law: Matthew, Bernard, Adam, Daniel, Micah, James and Paul; three close friends: Howard Bethea, John Sellers and Deacon Elliot Duncan; special son: Melcom and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
