Obituary

M issionary M ary P later entered eternal rest on April 20, 2020. She was born on March 9, 1942, in Marion, South Carolina to the late Mr. Wilson and Lorine Singleton. She was the second eldest of nine children.

Mary married Arthur Lee Plater on May 23, 1959, to this union five children were born. After moving to New York, Mary attended the Forest Hills High School Adult Center where she received her Nurse's Aide Certificate and worked twenty-four years before retiring.

Mary attended the Glorious Church of our Lord Jesus Christ under the leadership of the late Bishop David Hickey, Sr. Mary was a faithful and dedicated servant of the Lord Jesus Christ.

In 2004, she was licensed and ordained Senior Missionary. Mary license commissioned her to preach the Gospel, which was what she did without standing behind a pulpit.

Mary serve as the head usher for over 30 years and was known as the sweet welcoming usher with the beautiful smile.

In the year of 2007, the Pray Warrior Mary became apart of the One Way International Ministry under the leadership of Apostle Ralph L. Edwards, Sr. and Prophetess Irene Edwards.

Mary was a dedicated Wife and Mother encouraging and offering common sense advise was what Mary did, everyone called her Mother.

Mary was preceded on death by three sisters: Ida Mae Ivey, Annie Rose Singleton, Annie Jean Williams and one brother: Lee Manuel Singleton.

Mary leaves to cherish everlasting memories ~ her husband: Arthur Lee Plater; five children: George S. (Deborah) Plater of Ga., Steven L. plater of Ga., Clinton P. Plater of Brooklyn, NY, Sylvia A (Albert C.) Freeman, Philip (Cynthia) Plater of Long Island, NY; two grandchildren: Antoine Sessoms and Sania T. Thomas; four sisters: Irene (Ralph L., Sr) Edwards of Manhattan, NY, Betty J. (Jessie, Sr) Davis of Dillon, SC, Frances Middleton of Ga., and JoAnne (Larry) Blue of Dillon, SC; brothers-n-law: Lonzie Williams, Kenneth Lawson, and McKinnley Woodruff; sisters-n-law: Portia L. Lawson, Catherine Woodruff and Maxine Singleton-Miller; a host of nieces, nephews, cousin other relatives and friends.
