Mother Minnie Reaves Green, affectionately known as "Minnie Mae" was born to the late Herberbert and Minnie Reaves on October 2, 1938. After a very brief illness God sent an angel to bring her home on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, South Carolina.
Minnie Mae was educated in the public schools of Marlboro County, South Carolina.
Minnie Mae gave her life to God at an early age and joined the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Brownsville, South Carolina where she served as president of the Usher Board, a mber of the Trusteee Board, and a member of the Senior Choir until her health failed. She was also a member of Dora Tent #99.
Minnie Mae loved fishing, that was the one thing you could always catch her doing in her spare time. She loved her great grands as well. They were the light of her life. She was eagerly waiting the arrival of her first great-great grand.
Minnie Mae was preceded in death by her loving parents; three brothers: Willie L. Reaves, Emanuel Dismore, and Herbert Reaves; four sisters: Sarah Reaves Chaplin, Ethel Mae Jenkins, Elana Dismore and Ruth Gause; and she's rejoicing to be reunited with her best friend: Alberta McRae after eighteen long years.
She leaves to cherish her memories ~ her children: Barbara White of Latta, SC, Walter Levern Brown of Lumberton, NC and Melody (Richard) Walker of Fayetteville, NC; three grandchildren: two of which she reared as her own: Lakisha (Christopher) Reaves Page of Latta, SC, Tina D. Brown of Fayetteville, NC and Latanya Brown of Florence, SC ; ten great grandchildren: KeOsha, LaKiyah, Ke'Nasia, Arianna, Anthony, Emmanuel, Ke'Nyah, Dalieyah, Aniya and Kristopher; three brothers: Henry (Rebecca) Reaves of Brooklyn, NY, Charlie "Jack" Reaves of Newark, NJ and Willie Evans (Veronica) Reaves of Brooklyn, NY; her roommate at Carlyle Senior Care: Ruth Taylor; a special nephew: Ricky Reaves; two special nieces: Lila Godfrey and Annie Davis who never hesitated to take time out to visit with her and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
