Lillie B. Sellers Spears was born on July 12, 1944 in Dillon County, South Carolina to the late Knee and Lonnie Mae Sellers. She departed this earthly life on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at McLeod Hospice House, Florence, South Carolina. She was married to the late Willie B. Spears.

Lillie received her education from Latimer School, Latta, South Carolina. After graduation from school, she moved to New Jersey in 1963. She worked at several jobs before coming back home to Latta, SC in 1978. She worked at Dillon Yarn and at Abingdon Manor and numerous other small jobs until her health failed.

Lillie was converted at an early age and joined Bethel Hill AME Church, Latta, South Carolina. In later years she moved her membership to New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Latta, South Carolina. She was a member of the Missionary Society, Senior Citizens Organization, Kitchen Committee, and Secretary of the Usher Board. She was a active in the DCT/Latimer Alumni and a member of Hope for Youth.

Lillie is proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers: James Edward, Knee, Jr., George, Lee Curtis, and Nathaniel Sellers.

Lillie leaves to cherish her precious memories: two daughters: Lalonnie Mayo and Jalaya Spears of the home; one granddaughter: Aaryona Barr of the home; one sister: Eloise Lee of Latta, SC; one brother: Lafon Sellers of Latta, SC; four sisters-n-law: Ella Mae Sellers of Dillon, SC, Ella Mae Spears, Elizabeth Sellers, and Pearl Sellers all of Latta, SC; two brothers-n-law: John (Annie) Spears and Howard (Josephine) Spears both of Latta, SC. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Thanks to her nephew and niece: Curtis and Tammie for the care they gave; McLeod Oncologist, McLeod Hospice House, Dorothy Sellers, Earline McClain, Constance M. Ladson, her fishing partner Bernice Townsend and Valeria McLain.
