"LD" J ohnson was born on May 12, 1944 in Nacogdoches, Texas the third of eleven children to the union of Sammie and Robbie Lee Garrett Johnson. Five siblings preceded him in death.

LD attended the Nacogdoches county public schools. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam war era as a missile mechanic.

LD's passion was as a skilled cross-country truck driver for 60 plus years employed by Silver Eagle, Continental Express, Crete Carrier, & Tyson Foods.

LD met and married Evelyn Watson on August 3, 1991. To this union no children was born. He was the father of three sons and one daughter.

Off the road LD attended The New Covenant Assembly in Christ Jesus  in Dillon, SC.

He enjoyed his horses, loved being outdoors gardening which he had that green thumb touch and also styling in his boots.

27 years of memories will be cherished by his wife Evelyn of the home Latta SC. Sons; Duane, Richard and Nagarris Johnson all of Texas. Daughter; ChaRhronda Mann of Florida. Sister's; Jessie Mae Young, Lucille Brown. Josephine Johnson. Hazel Nell Anderson all of Texas. Brothers-n-law; Elder Eddie (Eloise) Watson. Elder Randy (Jerolyn) Watson. Sisters-n-law; Sheila (Ed Louis) Gurley. Mary (Elder George) White all of South Carolina. Seven grandchildren and five great grands. Special nieces Kendra Thorne & Erica Ouguillard. A host of other relatives, church family, friends and truckers.
