J ames M aurice " P ete" M iles , the son of the late John King and Stella Mae Miles was born July 9, 1950 in Latta, South Carolina. James entered eternal rest on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at his residence.

James Maurice was educated in the Dillon County School system. James was employed with Packing of America of Latta, SC and Agri Supply of Florence, SC.

"Pete" gave his life over to God at an early age joining Glenn Chapel Methodist Church. Later in life, James recommitted his life to the Lord by joining St. Phillips United Methodist Church where he served until his health failed.

James Maurice married Julia Mae McKennie and to this union two children were born: Carol Marie and Janie Lynn Miles.

James was preceded in death by his wife: Julia "Judy" Miles; parents: John King and Stella Mae Miles; one sister: Cotella James; four brothers: John Fred, Schofield Miles, Randy Braddy, and Ivey James.

James Maurice is survived by ~ two daughters: Carol Miles of Marion, SC, and Janie Miles of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren: Shanice Miles of Charlotte, NC, DeAriel (Jazz) Miles of Spain (US Navy), Quinton Miles of Charlotte, NC; three great grandchildren: Malijah James and William James both of Charlotte, NC, Corey Turner of Huntersville, NC; four sisters: Brenda Burford (Larry)Patterson of Virginia Beach, VA, LoRena Miles (Larry) Sawyer of Norfolk, VA, Antonette (Curtis) Graves of Fayetteville, NC, Jean (Wesley) Alexander SC; four brothers: Elijah Odell Miles of Sellers, SC, Sidney Braddy of Latta, SC, Ronald (Jennifer) Braddy of Sellers, SC, Larry James of Marion, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends,
