James Edward Thomas, Jr, (Blunt) was born on August 6, 1952 to the late Dorothy McCormick and the late James Edward Thomas, Sr. in Dillon County. He departed this earthly life on December 28, 2018.

James was educated in the public school system of Dillon County, South Carolina. His years of employment included: 20 years at Brick Yard in Sellers, SC, a firefighter, and a handyman of Dillon County.

James was the father of the late Carl LaShawn Jones.

James was preceded in death by: a sister: Betty Jean Thomas, a brother: Thermond McCormick, a nephew: Willie Davis, and a brother-n-law: Eugene Edward Wade, Sr.

James was well known for his continues efforts and volunteer services throughout the community. He was also well known for his devoted services to anyone in need.

James leaves to honor and cherish his memories ~ four loving grandsons: Darrel, KarzShawn, Phelepeo, and Phifem; one granddaughter: Brittani; two sisters: Annie Wade of Clinton, MD, and Brenda Thomas of Greensboro, NC; a special nephew: Ray Burgess; four Godchildren: Brittany Burgess, Kiera Bethea, Kaylena Burgess, and Wanda Burgess; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
