Obituary

"When my father and mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up" Psalms 27:10

On Saturday, February 8, 2020 Foster Godbold, Sr. joined his beloved wife, Elizabeth in their heavenly home. He was the son of the late Edward Williams and Mae Bell Sellers Godbold and was born October 8, 1935 in Dillon County, South Carolina.

He was a graduate of Latimer High School, Latta, South Carolina in the class of 1953. Foster was baptized and gave his life to the Lord. He was a faithful member of Mill Branch Missionary Baptist Church until his health began to fail. He served as past Sunday School Superintendent, past Sunday School Teacher, past Trustee, and Deacon for many years.

Foster was a giver. He always wanted to be a blessing to someone. He was self-taught to work on vehicles and rebuild many motors for people in the community. Foster retired from the state as a Fuel Tanker and was a Funeral Home Attendant with Shipman's Funeral Home for twenty plus years.

Foster was joined in holy matrimony to Elizabeth McClam on August 16, 1957. They were blessed with several children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and will be greatly missed.

Foster leaves to cherish his memories ~ one faithful sister: Josephine Crawford of Latta, SC; two loving aunts: Elder Willie Mae Parks of Florence, SC, Lula Mae Godfrey of Latta, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
