Edgar Beamer Hayes was born on October 8, 1938 to the late Exodus and Hannah Hayes. Beamer entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 30, 2018.

Beamer attended the Dillon County Public Schools in Dillon, South Carolina and accepted Christ at an early age.  He married Dorothy A. Ward on November 19, 1960 and to this union one son was born.

He joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and sang on the Senior and Mass Choirs.

Beamer worked at DuPont as a foreman until he retired.  After retirement he loved gardening and grew the best greens in town.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife: Dorothy Hayes; his son: James E. Hayes; a step-son: Michael Ward; a brother: Exodus Hayes Jr. and a sister: Patricia McCloud.

Beamer is survived by ~ one daughter: Jacquelyn Bethea; five sisters: Lillian Carmichael of Ashburn, VA, Alene Jones of Dillon, SC, Hannah (Anthony) Warren of Richmond, VA, Rhonda McClam of Norfolk, VA, Mary (Charles) McCrimmon of Dillon, SC; two brothers: Wendell Hayes of Dillon, SC and Robert Hayes of Norfolk, VA; one adopted brother: Ulysees (Helen) Bethea of Longs, SC; two sisters-n-law: Janet Oliver of Blenheim, SC and Shirley Mae Ward of Rock Hill, SC; one brother-n-law: Marion Ward of Bennettsville, SC; five grandchildren: Carlos (Mary) Ward, Michael Ward Jr., Tyquan Porter, Tyree Porter and Tyquasia Wright all of Latta, SC; nine great grandchildren and a  host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
