Cornelius Williams was born in Dillon County on June 7, 1936. He was the second child of Hattie and Nehemiah Williams he grew up on a farm.

He was educated in the Dillon County Training School system along with his older sister Rosalee and brother Jimmy.

Cornelius stayed in the Carolinas when his mother and sister moved to New York. During his lengthy illness he was cared for by his sister until her passing and extended family afterwards. He passed away in January 11, 2019.

He is survived by his two children and numerous extended family.
