C onnie H enry R ogers was born on November 18, 1926, to the late Samuel Henry Smith and Luvenia Rogers. Connie departed this earthly life peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2019 in the McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, South Carolina.

He received his education from the public schools in Latta, South Carolina. Connie was known in Latta as the lawnmower man. He worked for Traci Pile building houses and Duncan Dew driving trucks. He ran a store named Connie's Place.

He was married to the late Elizabeth Edwards Rogers for seventy-one years, who he met while working at a Peanut stand.

He loved to attend his cousin, Mary Jane Rogers church service at Pruitt Health every Thursday morning.

He has for sisters and two brothers who preceded him in death: Martha Lee Smith Sharp, Annie Catherine Galloway, Rita Galloway, Cornelia Galloway, Jude Galloway and Elijah Galloway, Jr.; a nephew: Kevin Sharp; son-n-law: Bobby Joe Hunter.

Connie leaves to cherish fond and loving memories ~ six children: Elise Hunter of Latta, SC, Jerry (Betty Pooler) Rogers of Washington, DC, Johnny (Sharon) Rogers of Temple Hills, MD, Betty Rogers, Doris Rogers and Luvenia Rogers all of Washington, DC; six loving grandchildren: Elise (Willie) Green of Dillon, SC, Maria Hunter of Latta, SC Latisha Rogers and Shannon Rogers both of Washington, DC, Ebeny (Brandon) Toloson of Ft. Washington, DC and Jordan Rogers of Washington, Dc; six great grandchildren: William Green and Brittany Green both of Dillon, SC, Cierra Crawford, Teniyah Crawford, Tyra Crawford and James Francis Marshall, IV all of Washington, DC; four sisters: Lucille Galloway of Latta, SC, Deloris (James Lee) Baccus of Syracuse, NY and Charlotte Galloway of Latta, SC; his niece: Brenda Sharp Ladson and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
