A lexander M cKay "Elec," son of the late George and Ruby Ellen McKay, Sr. was born on March 11, 1929 in Marion County, South Carolina. He peacefully departed this earthly life on Tuesday, March 26, 2020 at his residence.
At an early age, he joined New Mt. Zion AME Chruch, where he served faithfully as a trustee and a steward. He attended the public schools of Marion County, South Carolina. He was employed by Wick's as a truck driver and later by Timber Lumber Company/Costal Lumber Company, where he retired as a manger, after sixty years of service. Alexander had a love for all people and no one was a stranger. He especially enjoyed farming.
Alexander was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Maxine Wall. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.
Alexander was preceded in death by his son: Timothy McKay; his brothers: George McKay, Jr., Clifford McKay and a sister: Ethyl Jones.
He leaves to cherish his memories ~ his loving wife: Maxine McKay; a devoted daughter: Audrey Levy of Columbia, SC and a son: George 'Stoney' McKay of Fresno, CA; two sisters: Mildred (Sylvester) Williams of Charlotte, NC and Bessie Murphy of Whiteville, NC; one brother:David McKay of Marion, SC; six grandchildren: Brandon (Stephanie) McClellen, Christopher McKay, Timothy McKay, Jr., LaTonya Levy, Timoya McKay and Alexander McKay and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
